This unique vase was fired using the oldest known method for firing ceramics - pit firing. Using many different organic and inorganic objects, including saw dust, copper wire, oxides, steel wool, seaweed, leaves, grass clippings and timber, the vase was 'baked in a pit, left to cool overnight, then unearthed from the ashes to the reveal its unique patterns.
A purely decorative piece, it has been sealed for protection but is not water-tight.
